The Bi Awards: Contenders 7

THE SPICE GIRLS

Was there any bigger comeback last year than the return of Girl Power? I was one of the lucky ones that was able to attend the Return of the Spice Girls Tour and they surely did not disappoint. The Spice Girls will always have a spot in my memories as my favorite group from my younger days. This year, and possibly the only year they will be here, they received 5 nominations as Best Group and thanks to their comeback single.

"Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)": Nominated for Best Pop Song, Best Ballad, Best Performance, and Best Video

AVRIL LAVIGNE

Sellout? Poser? Wannabe? Whatever you want to call her, Avril also had a good year, putting out a pretty good album and looking, dare I say, sexy, while doing it. "Girlfriend" is the new cheerleader anthem and "When You're Gone" was a haunting ballad with an equally heartbreaking video. She comes into the awards with 3 nominations.

"When You're Gone": Nominated for Best Ballad and Best Video

"Girlfriend": Nominated for Best Rock Song
