YAY or NAY?: The Battle of The Divas

There are a lot of new songs out there from old artists all competing for attention. Here is a quick rundown of the worthy and not-so-worthy.

Christina Aguilera: Ain't No Other Man

YAY. The new single from the singer's (left) new album "Back to Basics" is an instant classic. It is a breathe of fresh air from the string of manufactured songs that have all come from basically the same mold. It has a fresh sound and amazing vocals. There is no other song out there that sounds like this one and I applaud Xtina for it. She has lured me back as a fan.

Jessica Simpson: A Public Affair

NAY. The new single from Jessica Simpson's new album has just been leaked to radio. It is very dance type track but is a blatant knockoff of Madonna (Holiday) and Britney (Anticipating). Rather than trying to make her own sound and follow her own path as Christina Aguilera has done with the brilliant Ain't No Other Man, Jessica has simply copied melodies of old hits from other, more superior artists.

Beyonce: Deja Vu

NAY. Beyonce oversinging+ Jay-Z again= Crazy in Love 2? Nope. It equals a song nowhere near as brilliant as the classic Crazy In Love.
