New Music Reviews

One new constant feature on Confessions of a Bi-Guy will be my reviews of music, movies, videos, etc. from all my favorite artists. Today, I will tackle 3 new ones.

Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack"

Song: A+
Video: B

So as I informed you yesterday, Justin Timberlake's new video for his brand new single from the new album FutureSex/LoveSounds, was released to the world yesterday. Check it out here. I find the song and its lyrics to be incredibly sexy and hot. It makes just want to get out on the dancefloor.

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. The video is good but it could have been sexier and more daring. It does have some hot moments and Justin looks good. I just think he played it far too safe. I don't think the video fit the song well and the widescreen effect kind of made it hard to make out what was going on. Overall good, but could have been better.

Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man"

Song: A
Video: A

Xtina makes a big comeback with this jazzy single from her upcoming album Back to Basics. The video has been out for a while. You can check it out here.

Just like Justin, she makes a statement by trying something new with her music rather than copying others. The video fits the song perfectly and presents a classier, more mature Christina. She looks incredibly sexy without looking trashy. It fits the style and feel of the song.

Jessica Simpson's "A Public Affair"

Song: B-
Video: A-

Watch the new video from her upcoming album of the same name here. I have to admit I wasn't too impressed when I heard this song. While it is very catchy and I do enjoy it, I believe all she did was copy more superior hits from other artists (i.e. "Holiday" by Madonna and "Anticipating" by Britney Spears). She really doesn't provide anything new or artistic growth, especially considering her very public divorce.

The video is what saves the song. It features cameos from Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, Christina Milian, Andy Dick, and Ryan Seacrest. The four girls like hot together, having fun and checking out the guys. The song and video fit well and go with her new single girl image. It's funny, campy, and even stupid at moments that add to its appeal.
