THE BEST
Justin Timberlake's performance of "SexyBack" and "My Love".
- What a way to open the show! He performed my favorite songs off the new album. His dance moves were amazing and he sounded great. The crowd absolutely loved it and it made me want to get up and dance.
Fergie performs "London Bridge"
- One of the night's best performances actually occured on the red carpet. Fergie kicked off the preshow with an amazing performance of her #1 hit. She did great and I loved the whole setup.
Beyonce performs "Ring the Alarm"
- All i have to say is: WOW! She tore the house down.
Shakira and Wylceaf Jean perform "Hips Don't Lie"
- Shakira gives us another great performance of this awesome song with some hot dance moves.
The Winners
- I am so happy James Blunt won Best Male Video and that Panic! At The Disco took home Video of the Year. I was absolutely shocked. That and Pussycat Dolls for Best Dance.
The Killers perform "When You Were Young"
- I loved this one. I am so happy they're back!
The Stage
- The setup of the stage was impressive. I loved how there were so many screens on the walls that focused on the performers. It looked great.
The All-American Rejects
- It was just their night. They hade a great performance of "Move Along", won for Best Group Video, and went up to the stage to accept the award completely drunk.
The "Jackass" Guys
- I think they should have hosted.
Panic! At the Disco performs
- Very cool.
THE WORST
Jessica Simpson
- She looked fat and I think she was high.
The Host
- Hello? Jack Black? Please stay home next year. Thanks. Chris Rock? Please come back.
The "Jokes"
- See above and add Sarah Silverman.
Technical Difficulties
- This distracted alot from the actual show. Come on MTV, isn't this like the 25th one?
The Winners
- Pink wins Best Pop Video over Madonna and Shakira? A.F.I over Panic!? Please!
The Losers
- Shakira only wins 1 and Madonna stays home (she wasn't there) empty handed?
THE SO-SO
Britney & Kevin
- I was happy she was featured. I thought the skit was funny but it ended awkwardly. I guess Jack Black messed it up. At least she looked good. But honestly Britney, must you do everything with that guy?
Christina Aguilera performs "Hurt"
- Christina, couldn't you have some fun? Yes you sounded amazing. But, couldn't you do something a little more happy and fun? Save the seriousness for the Grammy's.
Jennifer Lopez
- You hardly go anywhere now and you show up wearing that. At least she got to give out the best award.
The Rappers
- I thought the performances featuring rappers were awful. Couldn't they have gotten Chamillionaire to perform "Ridin" or given Missy more to do?
Ok Go
- They did their thing on the treadmills but what was the point?
Well there it is everyone. Overall, I give the show a B. My suggestions, get some more interesting rappers to perform, do not allow ballads to be performed unless they lead into another song, give Chris Rock whatever he wants, keep the stage, keep the new voting system, and work out your technical difficulties. Oh and Britney, stop having kids, leave the husband home babysitting, make some music, come perform, and for god sakes please kiss someone, anyone.

Wow... And here I am waiting to read your blog smashing the VMA's and what do you do.. you give them a B... I thought this was one of (if not) the worst VMA's I've ever seen. I agree with you the host sucked... the jokes fell flat... and most of the winners were surprises. But we do agree on one thing Beyonce ROCKED!!! (even though she ripped off that dance sequence from Janet Jackson Rhythem Nation). Oh and as for Justin I thought it was OK but he was not all that great either. I can't believe you forgot to mention when Pink started to sing "Dear Mr. President" when she came up to present a award I thought even in that short time she sounded great. As for the Pre show I did not see any of it as I was watching Big Brother. I'm sure you're going to post about that soon so I will reply then about that. Until that moment have a great weekend.
