New Music Reviews

It's the battle of the new singles this week as some artists are releasing second singles off their new albums. Keep reading for the results.

THE KILLERS
"Bones" from Sam's Town

A

Unlike with "When You Were Young," this song had me as a fan from the first listen. It is catchy and sounds great. I am very pleased the direction the Killers have taken with their new material. They are showing growth as artists and now I can't wait to hear the rest of Sam's Town.

PARIS HILTON
"Nothing In This World" from Paris
B+

Paris' second single is totally different from "Stars Are Blind." It is pure frothy pop. I have to admit the song is insanely catchy and I have to give her (and her multiple producers/songwriters) credit for putting together some great pop songs. The video for the song is just as pop as you can get.

JANET JACKSON
"So Excited" from 20 Y.O.
A

This song succeeds where first single "Call On Me" didn't in that it's actually a great song. It is vintage Janet Jackson. Granted the vocals are really soft but it's Janet and that's the way it is with her. The beat is hot and the accompanying video is just as good. Welcome back Janet.
