New Music Reviews

THE KILLERS
Sam's Town
A+

This album officially surpassed Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds as my favorite album of the year. It such an incredible album. The Killers have gone in an entirely new direction from their first album Hot Fuss. I do still love that album, but this one is great. It has a more rock edge to it with stronger lyrics and music. The standouts include: "Sam's Town", "When You Were Young", "Bling (Confessions of a King)", "For Reasons Unknown", "Bones", "The River Is Wild", "Why Do I Keep Counting?", "Where the White Boys Dance" (which is a bonus track from iTunes), and my ultimate favorite of the entire album "Read Your Mind". I guess that's basically all the songs except the Enterlude and Exitlud,e which don't really count and "Unlce Jonny" which hasn't grown on me yet. My least favorite song is "My List" which is too slow and boring for my taste. IF you have to pick up any album, make sure it's this one.
