KEVIN FEDERLINE Featuring BRITNEY SPEARS
"Crazy"
B+
Ok, I know I am totally biased and that the song is subjected to the Britney Spears grading curve. However, I have to give credit to the catchiness of the song. I was also pleasantly surprised by Kevin's uhhhh...rapping. Granted his lyrics are a tad on the lame side, but I was still a bit impressed. What ultimately saves the song is the chorus and bridge sung by Ms. Britney Spears. She sounds great on it and she saves the song from mediocrity. The song also has a hot beat that may just make it a hit.
GWEN STEFANI
"Wind It Up"
C+
So, I was really looking forward to hearing the first single off Gwen's Sweet Escape. I am so sad to say that I was disappointed. I thought it would be a cool, dance song but instead found a lame rip off of her big hit "Hollaback Girl." The chorus is decent and that pulls up the grade a bit. I hope the rest of the album is better Gwen.
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
"Welcome to the Black Parade"
A
I never really liked My Chemical Romance. I found them to be a tad bit overrated. However, when I first heard this song, I was floored by how good it is. I love the way how it starts off slow and mellow and then kicks into high gear and truly rocks out. The lyrics are great. They even sound to me like early Green Day for some reason.
