Rant: Simpson Overexposed

In what is perhaps the biggest understatement of the year, Jessica Simpson has topped the list of the world's most overexposed celebrities. According to Encino, California-based E-Poll Market Research, which ranks more than 2,800 celebrities on 46 different personality attributes, Simpson’s overexposed score went from 17 percent in September 2003 to 41 percent in mid-2006. The average for most celebrities at the peak of their careers is between 3-7 percent. During that same period, Simpson’s “talented” score dropped from 36 percent to a disappointing 28 percent. I really could not agree anymore. I believe all the hype around her is so undeserved. Her last album A Public Affair has sold barely 300,000 copies in 2 months and her new movie Employee of the Month only made $11 million this weekend. Her music sucks and she is not a talented actress. I still don't understand how she can be on so many magazine covers and praised for being an "A-List Artist." The only reason she is around is because of her Newlyweds show and then divorcing Nick Lachey. She does not have any hit movies, albums, or singles to be considered as big of an artist as people think. I just hope people come to their senses about her.
