The Return of Lost

****WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT, FOR SOME INSANE REASON, SEEN LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE OF LOST AND DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING UNTIL YOU DO, STOP READING!****

So, Lost finally returned last night after a long, long wait with the promise that there would be a big revelation in the first five minutes. All I have to say is: WOW. They shocked us by showing us a group of normal people, in a normal house, meeting for a book club. Then, there is a rumble and a loud noise. Everyone runs out of the house and we see other people come out of their own homes. What do they see in the sky? None other then Oceanic Flight 815 crashing. Then who do we see? Creepy Henry Gale running out of his own house. The camera goes wide and we see a nice normal town with homes and a park, in the middle of the island. So much for the Others being dirty and living in camps. They seem to have their own little town. Also, Henry is not really Henry but rather his name is Ben. He dispatched two men, the now dead Ethan and Goodwin to infiltrate each group of survivors. I also liked the introduction of new character Juliet, who was in the book club and seems to have a history with "Henry."

After that, I recovered from that surprised to see what happened to Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. I felt most bad for Jack, who seemed to be completely losing it. In his flashback, we learned of his emotional problems and regrets related to his father, who it seems he had driven back to drinking after months of sobriety. We also saw more of his wife who I thought was a complete bitch. Juliet ended up being his interrogater and food server. At one point, Jack managed to get to her and get out of the cell, but when he opened the door, water poured in. Apparently, there is an underwater hatch too, the Hydra. It was also odd how when Jack did this, Henry slammed the door in Juliet's face, leaving her to drown. Fortunately, they managed to drain the water and Jack went back to his cell.

Meanwhile, Kate got a shower and a dress for her breakfast with Henry/Ben. He warned her to enjoy the moment because the next two weeks would be unpleasant and that gave me chills. Sawyer had been confined to a cage at a place that looked like a zoo. Eventually, Kate was sent to a cage right across from him with Jack still in his cell. I really liked this episode and the new perspective they are taking by introducing this new world. This season seems like it will be action packed based on this episode and clips from next week. I have a strong feeling that Kate will choose Sawyer soon, but I have a feeling something will happen with Jack and Juliet. I did want to know what happened to the original survivors and the guys in the hatch but that will happen next week and I'm glad the solely focused on the 3 and the Others this week.
