The Return Of...

Finally after waiting the whole summer, my favorite show Veronica Mars returned for a brand new season on the CW. The episode was amazing, pure Veronica. I was glad to see no major shake-ups occured as a result of the network switch. Ms. Mars started her freshman year at college bringing along Mac, Wallace, and her boyfriend Logan (just how hot was their sweaty, post-sex scene?) We saw the introduction of new characters that happen to be hotties, perky Parker (Mac's roommate) and Piz (Wallace's roommate). We also saw the introduction of the first of this season's three mysteries involving the Hearst College rapist, a storyline first introduced at the end of last season. Apparently this guy rapes his victims and then cuts off all their hair. His most recent victim turned out to be Parker, who we saw screaming in front of a mirror at the end of the episode. I'm curious to see Veronica tackle this case considering she was raped herself as was her good friend Mac by the same guy, Cassidy, who also turned out to be responsible for the bus crash of last season's mystery (still with me?).

On that note, Cassidy's brother Dick is all a mess because of what his brother did and because of his suicide. I actually felt sorry for the dude, who is usually a jerk. I was also a little suspicious of Logan who seemed to be a little distant the whole episode. Was it because of his father's murder in the season finale or something else? Now Keith, Veronica's dad, was last seen standing up his daughter at the airport for their trip to New York. It involved Kendall and a briefcase. We find out that he eventually went to NYC three days later and that the briefcase contained a lot of money. It seems Kendall needed help to skip town with a new identity with her parolee boyfriend who is also one of the Fitzpatricks (Irish mob family, still with me?). Keith was getting paid to help them skip town and away from the Fitzpatricks. Unfortunately, it seems this guy was working with his family and seems to have killed Kendall. I guess we'll find out the rest next week.

All in all, I'm glad to have my show back just as funny, smart, and mysterious as it always has been. While I will miss having one large mystery for the whole season rather than three small ones, I still love this show (although I don't like how they made the theme song so slow, oh well).
