Welcome Back to Buffy the Vampire Slayer Week! The focus of today will be Seasons 4 through 6.
I'll kick things off with my favorite moments from Season 4. To me, Season 4 was the weakest Buffy season of all. It is basically a transitional season, serving as a bridge between Buffy's high school years in the first three seasons and the more adult themes exploresd in the final three seasons. This season picked up after the gang's high school graduation. Buffy, Willow, and Anya attended UC Sunnydale while Xander decided to forego college. In college Buffy meets Riley, who becomes her new boyfriend. I never liked Riley as her boyfriend. He seemed to be too weak for her, especially following Angel. Buffy also discovers The Initiative, a secret goverment organization that captures demons. She discovers Riley works for them along with her favorite professor, Professor Walsh. Professor Walsh is in charge of project and created Adam, an incredibly strong being made out of parts of various demons. Eventually Adam gains control of everything and has plans of his own to create a demonic army, unless Buffy stops him.
Our first clip is from the episode "Hush." This is the season's best episode. All inhabitants of Sunnydale have become silent. The town is terrorized by pale, bald, mute, grinning monsters called The Gentlemen, who "steal" the voices of the entire town, then set about trying to accumulate seven human hearts from their silenced victims.
This clip is also from "Hush." I included because it has a funny little moment as Giles tries to explain the situation.
The next clip is from the episode "Primeval." In this episode, Buffy discovers Adam's endgame and enters the Initiative heaquarters with her friends to stop him once and for all. He turns out to be far to strong for her to defeat alone. Using some cool magic that unleashes primeval forces, she and her friends manage to stop him.
The final clip from season 4 focused on the finale "Restless." The spell used to defeat Adam released an entity that attempts to kill the gang in their dreams. The entity is revealed to be the first Slayer.
