Grey's Anatomy Actor Comes Out

T.R. Knight, who plays Dr. George O'Malley on my beloved Grey's Anatomy, confirmed to People magazine that he is gay.

"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there,” T.R. said in a statement to the magazine. “While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interestiung part of me."

This explains the scuffle from last week and why Partick Dempsey (Derek) got angry with Isaiah Washington. It was Knight, who infuriated cast mate Washington on Oct. 9 by reportedly showing up late for work. When co-star Patrick Dempsey stepped in to ease tensions, witnesses claim Washington snapped: “I’m not your little faggot like (Knight),” and grabbed Dempsey by the throat.

I really applaud T.R. for making this very important decision and deciding to come out with his sexuality. I really do hope that people see past his sexuality and see him as the talented actor that he is.
