More Fun With the Housewives

Last night on Desperate Housewives, we were treated to a little less mystery and a little more fun. The main mystery of the show was put on hold for this episode which seemed to more filler than anything. However, it is still better than a lot of last season's "filler" episodes. This week, we got to see more of the Wisteria Lane kids in action. We finally got to see the return of Andrew, who was now living on the streets after Bree left him stranded at a gas station last season. We also saw Bree's daughter return, who selfishly stated that having a "junky" brother would ruin her chances of being prom queen and how she too had problems after seeing her own boyfriend shot right in front of her. Bree basically ignored her and went searching for Andrew on the streets and had a hilarious encounter with cross-dressing prostitute, Pearly Gates. I love how Bree always finds the right, and funniest, things to say in these situations. While she eventually did find Andrew, he, of course, told her off and ran away, leaving poor Bree a mess. I was surprised to see that Orson, when he saw Bree in tears, felt bad for her and tried to help her by talking with Andrew, who it seems has been doing a little something on the side for money. I'm confused with Orson, who seemed to be a whole lot less creep last night and a lot more compassionate. It did also surprise me that Andrew returned at the end.

Susan's daughter Julie also seems to have a thing for Edie's nephew Austin, who looks increasingly hot each episode. Whether shirtless in boxers or in jeans and a black tank top, he looked so hot. It was fun watching him and Julie in the fuse box scene. It became clear she has feelings for him even though she denied it to Edie, who warned her to stay away from him because he's a bad boy. As we all can imagine, she won't. Now Susan slept with Ian after their little argument regarding past sexual partners, his score is 1, hers is 11. I found this a little boring and useless, even though I am finding Susan a lot less annoying this season.

Gaby, of course, had the best night. She ran into a more mature John (Jesse Metcalfe! YAY) and slept with him. As it turns out, he was engaged to be married and the funniest scene of the night occurred when John's fiancee showed up to his hotel room. John ended up stuffing poor Gaby into a suitcase and rolling her out of the room so his fiancee wouldn't notice. Then, he ended up leaving her in an elevator by herself. It was funny watching her come out of it with a confused couple watching her. She then says she saved a bundle on plane fare. That was a classic Gaby moment. However, not all was fun for Gaby, who is finding herself more and more lonely as she goes home to an empty house.

Is in anyone else bored with the Lynette/Tom/Nora storyline? I really am. It is time for Nora to fade into the background and for Lynette and Tom to take center stage. She is increasingly annoying and I can't wait for Lynette to put her in her place. I'm surprised she has put up with her for six months already.

Next week looks promising with Mike awaking from the coma, Carlos having Gaby arrested, and Bree finding out how Andrew was getting money while on the streets.
