2008 Rewind: Music

THE BEST:

1. Britney Spears' Circus: This album proves that Britney is the reigning Princess of Pop. From "Womanizer" to "My Baby" this album is incredible and is expected to make a clean sweep at the 2009 Bi Awards.

2. Rihanna's "Disturbia": I love RiRi but she is starting to become a tad bit overexposed if you ask me. However, this track is a true classic and the best of the year.

3. Lady GaGa's The Fame: Her debut album is one of the best this year and a dance pop phenomenom.

4. Leona Lewis' Spirit: From "Bleeding Love" to "The Best You Ever Had", Leona's debut album is another one that I couldn't stop listening to this year.

5. Mariah Carey's E=MC2: This was the year of the divas that kicked of with Mimi's new album. "Migrate", "Bye Bye", "For the Record" are just a few of the stand out tracks. Too bad the wrong singles were chosen that didn'g give the album its chance to shine.

6. P!nk's "So What": Arguably one of the best singles of the year. P!nk never fails to make us dance to her troubles.

7. Jon McLaughlin's "Beating My Heart": Normally, I'm not the singer/songwriter type, except for Jon Mayer, but this guy is very talented and this song was great. Not to mention he is easy on the eyes.

8. Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl": Katy joined me this year in making bisexuality hot with this awesome single.

9. Danity Kane's "Damaged": This made-for-TV girl group released a great catchy pop single. Too bad they broke up.

10. Brandy's "Right Here (Departed)": I loved Brandy in her heyday and I instantly loved her comeback single. Too bad people didn't pay too much attention to it.

THE FAIL

1. Beyonce's I Am...Sasha Fierce: I'm sorry but I don't buy the whole "Sasha Fierce" gimick she is using to push this album. I heard it all and it just fails on all aspects with the exceptions of "If I Were A Boy" and "Halo". When will everyone else realize that they don't have to adore everything she puts out? You won't get struck by lightening people. (Waits a minute). See nothing happens.

2. The Pussycat Dolls' Doll Domination: I really wanted to like this album but it was just boring except for lead single "When I Grow Up" and "I Hate This Part". I really enjoyed their debut, too bad they dropped the ball here.

3. Madonna's Hard Candy: I initially liked this one. I think it was more of my adoration of Confessions on a Dancefloor spilling over onto it. Madonna completely sold out, collaborating with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake on this hot tranny mess of an album. The only true gem is "Miles Away."

4. Christina Aguilera: I loved "Keeps Gettin' Better" but she really needs to stop copying others (Britney, Lady GaGa) and passing it off as originality. She is talented enough to do it on her own.

5. Janet Jackson's Discipline: We get it Janet, you loooove sex. After 5 albums on the subject, it's pretty clear. Now make an album worthy of your talents like All For You or janet.

6. Mariah Carey's promotion of E=MC2: The album is amazing (see above). Sadly, Mimi and her record company dropped the ball promotion-wise. "Migrate", "For the Record", "OOC" were all wasted. I'll forgive the wedding to Nick Cannon but allowing him to direct a video is just blasphemy.

7. Lil Wayne's The Carter III: Sorry I just don't like his appeal. He is a terrible rapper. Give me Kanye or Jay-Z any day.

8. Miley Cyrus' Breakout: Her album sucked and she tries too hard to be the next Britney with her "controversies". Bitch please.

9. RBD breaks up: Idiots.

10. American Idol: Musically speaking, David Cook disappointed but David Archuleta lived up to my expectations: he is bland as hell.

THE EH IT'S OK

1. The Killers' Day & Age: It's part Hot Fuss, part Sam's Town. I loved both instantly but this one has failed to completely lure me in.

2. Taylor Swift's Fearless: It's a good album, but is she worthy of all the praise? Jury is still out on that.

3. Lindsay Lohan's "Bossy": I liked the beat of the song, but the vocals leave something left to be desired.
