Buh Bye Josh!

Back to Big Brother! Let me just recap my thoughts on the season really quick: I hate it. It is the worst season by far and I blame the quick casting CBS did to show something during the writers' strike. I'm not really rooting for anyone like before. Natalie is my top one, for turning out to be a good player once Matt was evicted. After that, eh. I hate James, but he is growing on me just a little bit. Ryan is cool but a dumb player. Sharon is ok, Sheila is a psycho and Adam looks like Shrek. I'll miss Josh because I loved to hate him. So here we go:

Daytime casting directors take note: there's an up and coming actor in your midst, and I hear a rumor that he just became available. Snap him up before your rivals get the chance! I'm looking at you Young and the Restless or Bold and the Beautiful!

After weeks and weeks of weakly manufactured suspense in their live shows, the producers finally got a storyline worthy of actual screen time this week as Joshuah fought against all odds to try to stay in the house. Tuesday's episode ended with him feeling quite confident, having convinced Ryan to keep him in the house and Natalie to then break the tie in his favor and send Sharon packing. When the action picks back up again tonight, Joshuah seems less certain about Natalie's intentions so he goes about trying to get Adam on his side so Natalie's tiebreaker won't be necessary.

It's the WAY he goes about trying to get Adam on his side that's genius, though. Thinking if he appears to be a weak player Adam might keep him over Sharon, Joshuah goes into full-on crocodile tears in front of Adam, histrionically sobbing about how he just wants to stay in the house and doesn't want to leave. The best part is that his tears leak onto a plate of what appears to be pizza, which Joshuah can't even eat because he's on slop. I don't exactly know what's going on there, but it's awesome. If Joshuah is using his love for the carby cheesy goodness that is pizza to have supposedly "triggered" his crying jag, that's just brilliant.

Adam comforts Joshuah but it doesn't really sway his vote at all, and things get much worse for teary Josh when a waffling Natalie spills the beans about their deal to Sharon. Sharon is quite taken aback and this starts some "girl power" nonsense between Sharon, Natalie and Sheila that I am only going to mention in passing because nothing will come of it. Natalie is just NOT going to be in an all-girl alliance, like, ever. Sharon then goes around the house attempting to secure votes for herself, which she seems to do quite successfully. The one curious thing is that she swears to Ryan she isn't after him next week and was never after him in the game. Say what? If she gets HoH, who will she put up? James? Adam? Sheila and Natalie? I have no idea how Sharon is playing this game. It confuses me.

Next is time for Joshuah's parents to weigh in on his antics in the house. Thankfully, his very cute mother Darlene seems completely horrified by his rants and insults, and even though she tries to pass them off as "strategy" you can tell she doesn't really believe that's the case. She knows her son was just sort of being an asshole. The best part about his package is when Darlene gives a little "Josh from childhood to today" talk that is put together just like the background packages on Intervention. I sort of expected to then hear about Joshuah's addiction to tanning and white belts. Who else loved his white belt the other day?

Before we find out who is evicted Julie takes a moment to talk to Natalie in the HoH room, where we learn that God talked to Natalie as a little girl. That...isn't surprising, but it sure explains a lot about Natalie. That is another thing I'm not liking that started with season 8, the bible thumpers? I have my faith but come on! It's a bit much. Anyway, when we return to the live voting, Joshuah is easily evicted, 3-1. He obviously took America's notion that Natalie would give a better inspirational speech to heart and wants to prove us wrong, because before he leaves he gives a half pleasant/half self-important speech about how awesome he is and how he wants everyone to be awesome just like him in the game. Or something like that.

The HoH competition this week is called "More or Less," and is the BB staple which counts things around the house and has the houseguests try to guess if there are more or less of them than the number Julie gives. The most interesting thing that happens during the game is we find out there are 87 pillows in the house. That's a lot of pillows. I bet you could make a killer fort with those things. The competition is close between Sharon, James and Adam, but in the end Adam pulls it out, most likely ensuring another week of James on the block and safety for Ryan and Natalie. Can James pull out another PoV victory and force the other side of the house to finally start cannibalizing themselves? I hope so, because that's when things will definitely start to get interesting.

Evil or The Spawn of Evil?

Part of me was glad that I wasn't around to summarize this truly horrendous season of Big Brother. Coming on the heals of Big Brother 6 and Big Brother: All-Stars, this season was an extreme disappointment. Nevertheless, I did tune in for the end last night.

Given Daniele's infuriating personality, I kinda got a perverse pleasure in seeing her father win by a 5-2 vote — considering that I didn't want to see either of them win at all. I, like so many of you, considered boycotting the finale because I knew it would be terribly anticlimactic, but I had to experience this final hour, if only to enjoy the payoff of seeing the houseguests' reaction to Eric being America's player. Even in the end, Eric didn't disappoint and we got more twitches and weird eyebrow movement!

Though his in-house machinations were often as dirty as Dick and Daniele's, Eric's an intelligent and articulate player, and he did a damn fine job of convincing the jury that Dick was the more deserving winner. I actually didn't agree though. Daniele's game was much stronger in terms of the competitions. I loved it when Jameka said Daniele was the pimp and Dick was her ho. At the same time, something can be said for the fact that Dick, unlike Daniele, always made it known that he was playing for two — a pretty amazing accomplishment in a game that practically demands an egotistical attitude to the end. Even in those final minutes of last night's episode, I sensed that Dick was humble and happy for both himself and his daughter, while Daniele was just putting on a good face. Notice how he gave her a big kiss on the cheek while she just stood there unflinching, smiling to the camera. She even seemed happier to see Nick than she was to "share" her victory with Evil. I'm glad I tuned in. Great jury moments, great finale, a great amount of glitter on Julie's chest. Jessica never looked hotter, ditto to Mike who left way to early. But Zach, you're still a freaking tool. Amber, you are not hot, Tyra won't want you. Jameka, love ya!

What a craptastic season this was thanks to an unprecedented amount of controversy. We had Dick's verbal abuse, Amber's anti-Semitism, allegations of game tampering by the producers, and cheating by the players. Many even wondered whether Daniele was even eligible to win since you're supposed to be 21 to play in this game. People complained and complained but nothing was ever done, especially with the whole Dick-Jen-Cigarette-Iced Tea incident. I do think the producers did have more of a hand this time around in getting to the outcome, which is really disappointing. I watched the feeds and things went on that made it kind of obvious. Whatever the case, I'll still be watching next summer!

The Return of Big Brother

I am so happy to hear that CBS has ordered up an eighth season of its reality franchise Big Brother for this summer! The strangers-in-a-box series has aired every summer since 2000 when it premiered within weeks of the launch of CBS' other venerable unscripted contest, Survivor. Julie Chen will return for another round of bare-shouldered hosting and Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan will remain on board as executive producers. Arnold Shapiro, another long-time executive producer, will serve as a creative consultant.

Last summer Big Brother: All-Stars welcomed back an assortment of favorites, including the love of my life Janelle, with Mike "Boogie" Malin topping the other 19 all-stars to win the $500,000 top prize. For its eighth installment, Big Brother will go back to its regular, unknown contestants who will, once again, share a house bedecked in cameras for three months, voting people out every week. I can't wait!

The Final Rant on Big Brother 7

So, as you all must know, the season finale of Big Brother: All-Stars aired last night. While I really didn't care who won, I am glad that Boogie won over floater Erika. I was surprised that the jury voted on who played the best game, rather than on a personal side, as it usually goes. He did play the best game and deserved to win, although the brains of the game was Dr. Will. My girl Janelle deserved to be the winner but had to settle for 3rd place again and at least she won the America's choice prize of $25,000. She had the best game for the past two summers yet always ends up alone and betrayed in the house. She (and Dr. Will) made this show worth watching.

The best thing from the night had to be when Kaysar outed James to everyone and Big Brother showed Janelle and the rest of the house most of what James had said about her in the diary room. I am so glad they all saw what a jerk he really is. Another great thing was when Alison (who left way to early), outed Boogie to Erika, telling her she needed to buy some dignity because Boogie played her the whole summer. Seeing Erika and Boogie's faces when Big Brother showed the clip of his diary room confessions was absolutely priceless.

So Big Brother thanks for a great summer. I really hope next year you have interesting players as interesting as these all stars (especially Janelle and Will). See ya next year!

The End of Janelle

Today I am in mourning. My favorite, and hottest, Big Brother player of all time, Janelle, was voted out last night by Mike Boogie. She is without a doubt the best player ever. While I feel that the 2nd HOH competition was fixed for a man, Erika ultimately did her wrong by immediately making a deal with Mike. Slut. Yes, she was betrayed by Erika, who threw the final competition to Mike so that he could be the one that voted Janie out. While I am deeply saddened that she left again in 3rd place like last season, I am proud of her accomplishment. She holds the record for the most competitions ever won by a single player on any season. She won 4 Head of Household competitions and 5 Power of Veto competitions. She also had the chance to evict Will on Tuesday, the man who manipulated her most of the season and as she put it was "for Howie and Marcellas." I am glad she went out in a classy way, being very nice to Mike and Erika and saying how she loved them both. She also looked hot. I'm sure she must have figured out in some degree that she would be going home. The finale is on Tuesday and now I really don't care who wins, but because of what she did, I hope it's not Erika.

My Thoughts On Big Brother...

So, here we are, the Final Four. They are Janelle, Will, Erika, and Boogie. In an action packed episode last night, Danielle was evicted, Janelle won HOH, she nominated Erika and George, Erika won Power of Veto, Janelle puts up George and George is evicted. Why did this have to happen? I really wish Erika had not won POV so she could have been evicted. Because now, Janelle is the frontrunner for eviction because..(PLEASE STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!)....

....Boogie has won HOH and the plan is to evict Janelle. Poor Janie is all alone and it seems Will is pretty much ignoring her now. I am so pissed. She got herself into this for trusting Chill Town so much. She should have gotten rid of at least one of them when she got the chance. Now she has to fight for the Power of Veto for the fourth straight week. In an ideal world, she would win it, take herself off (or leave the noms the same if for some reason she isnt nominated), and someone else is evicted. I really think Janelle has the votes to win if she makes it to the finals. I hope so! Make sure to watch Sunday to see the HOH comp, nominations, and veto. On Tuesday, there will be another live eviction with the finale the following Tuesday.

Big Brother 7 Rant: Janelle Playing With Fire?

OK, this has been a very eventful week on BB7. My favorite player, Janelle, won HOH and started having secret talks with the Chilltown alliance (Mike and Will). She ended up putting up Mike from Chilltown and Erica. In the power of veto competition, she helps Mike win and ends up putiing Diane in his place. This really pissed off James and practically everyone else who wanted her to nominate Will. I don't understand why he is so pissed. Why didn't he do it when he was HOH last week? Why didn't Kaysar do it the week before that? Why get mad at Janie for something they didn't have the balls to do? I'm glad Janie has a deal with Chilltown. It seems to me like her own alliance wants her to do the dirty work so that she comes off as the bad guy. I hope she gives up on the S6 alliance and moves on with Chilltown. Now I only hope that Diane ends up leaving and that either Howie, Kaysar, Erica, Marcellas, Chicken George, Mike, or Will win HOH on Thursday.

The Sort of Non-Sexual Rant on Big Brother 7: #2

Kaysar was always one of my favorite BB players, right next to Janelle and Will. However, as HOH this week, I think he made one stupid ass move nominating Nakomis and Diane. He really looked stupid and like a coward for not nominating Will or at least Mike. His reasoning for the nominations made no sense and I think he is now officially a poor player. He has a knack for trusting people he shouldn't, which is why he was voted out last year, twice. Even his own alliance is starting to doubt him and with reason. I know BB is a game where you have to play for yourself, but he is exposing his own alliance to eviction by making that deal with Mike and Will. Those people are the only ones in the house that support him. Stupid move Kaysar. You are officially banished from my list of favorites. King Kaysar? More like a pauper now.

By the way, I must mention how HOT Janelle, Will, James, and even Erica have looked this week. Man I wish I were locked in a house with them.

The Sort of Non-Sexual Rant on Big Brother 7

So Big Brother was on last night after a long wait since last Thursday. I hope you all watched! This season is looking pretty good. It was a pretty good episode and I could not stop rooting for my all-time favorite player, Janelle (right). Damn, she looked hot last night. Not only does it have her, but the show also has other hotties Alison, Will (below), and James. Will looks great but is in desperate need of a tan. James just plain looks good. I really dislike Alison for being so evil and two-faced towards Janelle but I love her for causing so much drama. Evil Dr. Will is up to the usual and James is flying under the radar for now I think. It's to soon to tell who will win but I can tell who is getting on my nerves. I was so excited when Janelle beat the others for the power of veto and subsequently did not use it. However, I have a strong feeling she will not last too long in this game. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is smart and an excellent player so people know not to underestimate her after how well she played last year. She shouldn't really on the so-called Season 6 alliance and branch out to another as back-up. I suggest forming an alliance with Marcellas, Erica, and Jase. That would be three more votes in her favor if she gets nominated next week. If she doesn't make it, my new favorites would be Will and James. Make sure you watch Thursday to watch Alison go home!

Big Brother 7: Vote Janelle!

Ok Everyone I need some help. Big Brother is back for a 7th season. This time, past contestants will return to compete again in the new All-Stars season. CBS is having us vote to choose 6 of the 12 All-Stars who will be in the house.
