Grey's Continues Its Hot Streak

So it was a big night last night on Grey's Anatomy. Some major decisions were made and there were a few surprises. We find that Meredith is not pregnant althought the teasers made us think otherwise. She did have appendicitis and needed surgery. It was hilarious watching Meredith acting all loopy from the morphine given to her and claiming that she was a big whore to everyone and that she had 3 boyfriends (Derek, Finn, and George). Speaking of Derek, he realized how much Finn cared for Meredith after seeing him waiting at her bedside to get out of surgery. He also talked to the Chief, who admitted that he loved Meredith's mom enough to walk away. So Derek stepped up to Meredith and said, ''I'm walking away....Finn's a better guy.'' And he walked away. Wow. The best of all was that slow, crushing fade that broke out on Meredith's face as she realized what Derek was doing.

The biggest news of all is that after Derek took himself out of the running and left Meredith to Finn, Meredith very delicately and sweetly sent Finn packing in the final minutes. My thinking is that she wants Derek now that he rejected her and doesn't want to be with her. What he did only increased her feelings for him. It should be interesting to see how this turns out.

Back at home, Izzie was sitting with George and bucking up to listen to the message that Denny left to his folks from his hospital bed after his heart transplant. Katherine Heigl owned this episode. While she didn't have so many lines, she never has been better. She ahd a sad gloominess washing over her face throughout the show. This was Heigl's best, most convincing grieving of the season. Izzie had spent most of the show talking to Denny's dad. In the final minutes, as she listened to the message, and Denny provided the voice-over wrap-up that's usually Meredith's thing, we found out that Izzie seems to have inherited $8.7 million. Does this mean she isnt't going back to work? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Meanwhile, George had bailed on Callie to be there and she called it quits with him for it, citing that it was always Izzie or Meredith and never her. I like Callier more and more with each episode and glad she finally left George because she deserves better. And in those last few minutes she gets that. Callie was having a drink at the bar and ran into Mark (aka McSteamy). She ended up inviting him back to her place for a "drink". I thought it was cool they throw them together like that. Speaking of Mark, he seems to be a jerk in the workplace which I really didn't like. The only other one that had a bad episode was Christina. She seemed very insensitive to Burke's problem. I just don't get what her deal is.

hmm i think Meredith wanted Derek even before he left her. It was when she was drugged up and talking to Addison- she admitted it. Finn's a nice guy; but i don't think nice guys win in the end.
